Counselling therapists are sought after for a primary care service. The service aims to provide short-term counselling in primary care settings to medical card holders aged 18 years and over by professionally qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists under the governance of directors of counselling.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver Counselling Services: Provide professional counselling services to clients in designated locations.
* Maintain Professional Development: Stay updated with latest research, best practices and technologies in the field of counselling.
* Foster Collaborative Relationships: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive client care.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Required Qualifications and Experience
* A Level 7 Qualification: A recognised Level 7 qualification (QQI) in a relevant human science discipline or equivalent in a health and social care profession or health-related profession.
* Professional Accreditation: Hold a degree or post-graduate qualification in counselling, or psychotherapy recognised by one of the following: the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), a relevant body within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) or the Irish Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (IABCP).
* Post-Graduate Qualification: Hold a post-graduate qualification in counselling psychology or clinical psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
* Registration with PSI: Have commenced the registration process with the PSI or be fully registered with the clinical or counselling psychology division of PSI.
* Minimum 2 Years' Experience: Have a minimum of two years relevant post-qualification experience (this requirement may not apply in respect of some full-time post-graduate qualifications).
