We know our people are our greatest asset and our success is down to the commitment and dedication of our team.We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Maintenance Engineer to join our facilities team in Newbridge RDC. This is a hands‑on role combining technical building maintenance with key administrative and financial responsibilities. You will be responsible for performing on‑site repairs, coordinating external contractors, managing the maintenance budget, and ensuring all associated documentation is meticulously maintained. The ideal candidate must have strong practical repair skills and excellent attention to detail.What you'll doBuilding MaintenanceTake responsibility for all building maintenance tasks and arrange for reactive maintenance to be completed as requiredPerform hands‑on on‑site repairs (e.g., mechanical, electrical, plumbing) where required to ensure timely fault resolutionSchedule and coordinate all applicable planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on equipment, ensuring that contract timeframes and schedules are metEnsure Health and safety is at the forefront of all works carried out on siteMechanical and ElectricalLiaise with sub‑contractors for call‑outs, faults, and scheduled service visits as requiredCost Planning & FinancialsStrong cost awareness skills, ensuring that all spending is in line with planned budgetsReconcile invoices, ensuring that all materials purchased are invoiced correctly and cross‑checked against the original purchase order for sign‑offAdministration and FilingAct as a co‑coordinator for maintenance‑related procedures and documentationManage departmental filing (both paper and electronic formats)Ensure the quality and accurate filing of all documentation associated with technical services and reactive/preventative repairsData and ReportingCollate information as required and/or directed by the Warehouse Facilities ManagerCompile reports and produce statistical support information as requiredSite ManagementEnsure cleaning standards are maintained and liaise with the cleaning company regarding any issues that may ariseWhat you'll needTechnically qualified in either Mechanical / Electrical, Building Services or Facilities Management is desirableSkillset to carry out minor repairs on sitePrevious Facilities experience desirable but not essentialDemonstratable experience in coordinating external subcontractors and managing service‑level agreementsStrong financial acumen with experience in budget management and invoice reconciliationAbility to proactively solve problems and adapt to various ad‑hoc tasksExcellent Google suite SkillsVery organised and self‑motivated with a proven ability to work to tight timescalesExcellent interpersonal skills and communication skills both written and verbalAble to work unsupervised and as part of a teamAbility to maintain confidential information and be discreet when dealing with sensitive issuesStrong communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with managers, contractors, and team membersStrong administration, organisational, documentation and analytical skillsWhat you'll receiveWe offer a competitive and transparent salary system, that ensures pay equality across all positions at Lidl€49,500 rising to €53,000 after 1 year20 days holidays per annum rising to 25 days after 2 yearsPrivate employee medical insuranceCompany pensionInitial training and ongoing development from an experienced team memberIndividuals recognised as high performing will be invited to join our Leadership Academy as part of your on‑going developmentExcellent opportunities for career progressionDynamic work environmentNew office facility with a gym & free parkingGenerous discounts available; Circle K, Private Health Insurance, Bike to Work SchemeMaternity & Paternity Leave top up, Marriage leave, Employee Assistance ProgrammeOnsite canteen with complimentary tea and coffeeMobile and broadband discounts with Three networkLidl is an equal opportunities employer.
