We are partnering with a leading regulated consumer entertainment organisation with a national footprint, strong digital and retail channels.
As this is a regulated, unionised organisation our client is looking to appoint an experienced Employee Relations & Industrial Relations Business Partner. This is a key role providing expert support across employee relations, industrial relations, governance, and HR operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with managers and HR colleagues to ensure employee matters are handled professionally, consistently, and in line with legislative and regulatory requirements, while also supporting audit readiness and people governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & People Risk
Provide expert guidance to managers on a wide range of employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes
Manage end-to-end ER casework including grievances, disciplinaries, investigations, absence, and capability
Ensure all cases align with employment legislation, internal policies, and best practice
Maintain accurate and compliant case documentation and records
Escalate complex or high-risk cases as appropriate
Industrial Relations
Support engagement with recognised trade unions, including preparing documentation, supporting meetings and relevant talks
Act as a point of contact for day‑time IR queries
Build and maintain constructive relationships with union representatives
Monitor and highlight emerging IR trends, issues, or risks
Governance, Audit & Compliance
Support internal and external audits, ensuring HR processes and documentation are fully audit‑ready
Maintain HR controls, systems, and documentation in line with regulatory and licence requirements
Contribute to the development and review of HR policies and procedures
Identify people‑related risks and support the implementation of appropriate controls and mitigation plans
Operational HR Support
Provide expert oversight across HR processes, particularly where risk, compliance, or ER considerations are involved
Support complex or sensitive contractual changes in collaboration with HR Operations
Act as an escalation point for HR queries requiring interpretation or judgement
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and documentation
Work closely with cross‑functional HR teams including HR Operations, Reward, HRIS, L&D, Internal Communications, and Talent Acquisition
Contribute to broader people initiatives and projects requiring ER, governance, or operational expertise
Support the Head of HR on strategic HR projects as required
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications
Degree in HR or related discipline; a CIPD or legal qualification is desirable
Commercial experience in an ER‑focused HR role, with IR support
Strong working knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practice
Experience supporting audit processes, governance frameworks, and compliance activities
Exposure to HR operations or shared services environments, with an understanding of end‑to‑end HR processes
Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and procedures, applying sound judgement in operational and compliance‑driven contexts

Maintains a calm, pragmatic, and solutions‑oriented approach in complex situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly

Builds strong relationships and manages stakeholders confidently at all levels
Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Demonstrates a strong understanding of confidentiality requirements and GDPR compliance
