The role

This Work Placement Experience Programme provides participants with meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. It is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Eligibility will be verified by the Department.

Office Administrator Assistant – Work Placement Experience Programme (WPEP)
Role Description
This is a supervised training opportunity with no prior experience required. Full training will be provided, covering invoicing, accounts administration, data entry, office software and workplace procedures.
Responsibilities

Assist with invoicing and basic accounts administration.
Perform general office duties including filing, data entry and correspondence.
Support day-to-day administrative tasks.
Maintain organised records and documentation.
Handle calls and emails professionally; respond to queries or complaints.
Follow confidentiality policies and workplace equality training.
Prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and observe experienced staff.
Complete real tasks such as scheduling meetings, filing or data entry with guidance.
Observe and learn office communication styles and etiquette.

Training (Formal)

Data protection and GDPR awareness.
Training on internal databases or CRM systems.
Introduction to company policies and workplace expectations.
Use of office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).

Training (Informal)

Filing systems, digital and paper.
Document formatting standards.
Handling calls and emails professionally.
Dealing with queries or complaints.
Confidentiality policies.
Workplace conduct and equality training.
Prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
Observing experienced staff handle admin tasks and communication.
Trial-and-error with guidance.
Regular advice and corrections from manager or coworker.
