Job Title: Safety Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our health and safety initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing client health and safety requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
This role requires strong knowledge of regulatory standards, risk management expertise, and the ability to foster a culture of safety throughout the organisation. The HSE manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to embed health and safety principles within all aspects of the business.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Developing, updating, and enforcing the company's health and safety policies and procedures;
* Conducting regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with safety standards;
* Developing strategies to minimise risks and prevent accidents, injuries, or incidents;
* Creating and implementing health and safety training programs for employees;
* Assisting in the allocation of resources based on the project schedule;
* Ensuring that resources are being utilized efficiently and effectively;
* Identifying potential resource shortages or surpluses and adjusting schedules accordingly;
* Maintaining accurate records related to safety inspections, training, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field;
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a health and safety management role, preferably within the construction or utilities industry;
* Strong analytical skills to analyse data, identify trends, and develop strategic solutions;
* Excellent communication skills to effectively convey safety policies and procedures;
* Knowledge of health and safety software, risk assessment tools, and data analysis;
* Regulatory knowledge of ISO Management Systems and relevant health and safety regulations.
