We recruiting for a FLT / Bale Operator at Greyhound. Our business is built on our people. We employ over 200 people at our Crag Avenue facility and all of our profits are re-invested in the company. All of our operational processes focus on facilitating recycling, composting and working towards a Greene, Cleaner world.
Duties
* Operate baling machines to compact recyclable materials into bales.
* Monitor input materials to ensure correct segregation and remove contaminants before baling.
* Weigh, label, and record finished bales according to site requirements.
* Ensure bales are stacked, wrapped, and stored safely in designated areas.
* Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance on baling equipment.
* Report machinery faults or downtime immediately to supervisors.
* Work closely with sort line and plant operatives to maintain efficient material flow.
* Follow health, safety, and environmental standards at all times, including correct use of PPE.
* Keep work areas clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
* Support the wider operations team as needed (e.g., loading/unloading, housekeeping).
* Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move materials throughout the facility
* Load and unload waste from trucks and containers
* Carry out daily vehicle pre use inspection and report defects promptly to the logistics coordinator
* Completion of tasks in a timely and accurate manner
* To ensure compliance with all aspects of health and safety, smoking regulations and environmental requirements
* To attend all meetings and toolbox training courses as required
* To show commitment to company values in all aspects of your role
* Establishing a good working relationship with colleagues
* Carry out ad hoc duties as requested by management
Required Skills
* Forklift driver national licence and experience
* Full Clean licence
* Be fully compliant with Driver CPC requirements
* Working within company health and safety requirements
* Be certified fit to undertake this position
