Clinical Nurse Manager I Ophthalmology Clinic Job Summary
This is an exciting career opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse with a passion for surgical excellence and team leadership. The Clinical Nurse Manager I (CNMI) plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
The primary role of the CNMI is one of clinical and professional leadership and development in the nursing team. This includes the development of nursing staff by means of in-service training, orientation of new staff and arranging for clinical experience and supervision of student nurses where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be responsible for the coordination, assessment, planning, implementation, and review of care for patients according to BSHS standards.
* Manage the activities of the Ophthalmic services from initial consultation in clinic to pre-assessment and discharge, liaising with consultants, nursing staff and all other healthcare professionals and support services.
* Liaise with theatre CNMs in relation to the theatre ophthalmology service.
* Managing staffing levels, fostering staff development, and promoting practice development initiatives to enhance the skills and capabilities of the nursing team.
* Maintain compliance with safety protocols, policies, and best practices in patient care.
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
Requirements:
* Must have 5 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
* Evidence of experience in the care of ophthalmology patients.
* Have the clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
* Experience in a nurse management role would be advantageous.
* Experience with an Electronic Health Record would be desirable.
* Preceptorship experience would be desirable.
