Specifically, the duties of the post are: Support the maintenance and monitoring of the organization's network infrastructure. Assist senior team members in ensuring network reliability, security, and performance. Monitor and resolve user reported network infrastructure issues assigned via the IT Service Desk ticketing system. Analyse network problems, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring preventative measures are put in place. Assist in the configuration and maintenance of networking hardware and software Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and escalate as needed. Provide first-line support for network-related incidents and service requests. Assist with the deployment and documentation of new network infrastructure projects. Liaise with external vendors and service providers as required. Stay current with networking trends and technologies to support ongoing development. Always representing the best interests of RCSI. Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time. Performing such other duties as may be required from time to time. Qualifications: Qualification/certification OR relevant experience in Azure/Windows Server technologies. Qualifications/certification OR relevant experience in networking technologies, including virtual networks. Knowledge & Experience (Essential): A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Experience in a similar role, but looking to take on more responsibility and learning Understanding of fundamental networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Understanding of OSI model. Eagerness to learn and grow within a team environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge & Experience (Desirable): JNCIA, CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent certification (or working towards). Exposure to Windows and/or Linux server environments.
