Role Overview
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Cork‑based team. The successful candidate will support project delivery by coordinating engineering activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and assisting in the execution of mechanical installation works.
Requirements
Develop a full understanding of the MSL scope of work
Report directly to the Project Manager
Support Area Engineers in resolving on‑site engineering queries
Work with the Construction Manager to monitor project schedules
Coordinate off‑site pipe fabrication in line with construction programme
Ensure effective on‑site coordination between Mechanical and other disciplines
Prepare weekly progress reports for both client and Project Manager
Coordinate input from Area Engineers for progress and variation reporting
Monitor site activities for scope compliance and identify potential variations
Ensure timely ordering and delivery of MSL‑supplied equipment
Liaise with consultants, PSCS, contractors, and client teams
Coordinate project activities with off‑site fabrication teams
Attend and contribute to regular progress meetings
Participate in safety audits and monitor site safety performance
Support QA activities to ensure timely system handover
Interpret and work from piping isometrics and P&IDs
Minimum 4 years' experience in a mechanical engineering role
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and products
Experience reading and interpreting piping isometrics and P&IDs
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Strong organisational and coordination abilities
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced project environment
Desirable
Experience in a construction or industrial project environment
Familiarity with mechanical contracting and site coordination
Knowledge of QA/QC processes and safety standards
