Job Title:Production Shift Manager Location: Castlebar Reporting To: Plant Manager - Castlebar Job Summary: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Shift Production Manager is responsible for production outputs, process optimisation, supervision of production operators, quality, safety, and good communication. Key Responsibilities: Work with planning to ensure capacity and production planning maximises productivity and effective use of resources to achieve customer requirements. Achieve output, quality, and delivery service levels within agreed targets. Prepare production plans that meet weekly demand requirements across all various print and finishing resources and ensure plans are signed off upon and agreed with the production team. Responsible for the delivery of the production plan. Full responsibility of the financial performance of the production unit including (folding, printing, binding, finishing, guillotine, and kitting cell). Use lean tools to identify process improvements andidentify efficienciesand work across various teams to introduce process improvements Drive key projects agreed with the Management team to improve overall business performance Support change management initiatives across the production team - maintaining focus whilst managing change. Establish and maintain high standards in relation to Environmental Health & Safety work practices. Work closely with Quality to ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to and improved upon and that high levels of quality are maintained. Work with Customer Service to ensure customer requirements are at the forefront of our daily activities. Develop production operational plans in conjunction with planning, finance, and the Plant Manager to ensure alignment with the operations strategy. Identify training requirements to ensure we utilise our talented team and champion a positive employee environment by promoting open communication, engagement, and development of team members. Ensure OTIF KPI is maintained at a level acceptable to the business team and work with cross functional teams to ensure consistency. Drive root cause and action plans across the team to ensure issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner Ensure full accountability and responsibility across all team members for performance of their production areas Ensure the teams execute in full preventative maintenance schedules and plans as required This list is not exclusive, and the job holder may be required to do additional reasonable tasks. Skills & Knowledge: Knowledge of print and/or packaging a distinct advantage Meticulous attention to detail with a methodical and analytical approach with excellent problem-solving tool skillsets Proven record of achieving sustained standardised improvements Very strong organizational and Project Management Skills Excellent planning, organising and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team is a key requirement. Ability to lead complex problem solving and cost/capacity improvement projects with cross functional teams. Ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and effectively. Familiar and comfortable with good documentation practices. Excellent people management skills Ability to engage with all stakeholders Highly motivated self-starter with an innovative mindset. Education: Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar or a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Lean Manufacturing, RCA and Six Sigma experience. Experience: Previous experience in mentorship and leadership.
