The Role & What You Will Be Doing
The Utilities Engineer is responsible for managing the operations of Filling, Packaging Lines, Autoclaves, Compounding equipment, Clean Utilities, HVAC, Water System, Gas distribution lines, ensure routine compliance to relevant SOP’s and coordinate with other departments and vendors
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Utilities Engineer role will make an impact:
* Oversee and verify preventive maintenance (PM), calibration, and environmental qualification activities according to schedules and checklists
* Supervise maintenance technicians, including performance management, training on SOPs, and ensuring GMP compliance
* Plan and allocate manpower effectively to meet operational and maintenance needs
* Manage vendor selection, review risk assessments/method statements, ensure work permits, and monitor service quality
* Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and participate in audits, MRBs, and qualification activities (URS, DQ, FAT, IQ, OQ, PQ)
* Ensure compliance with EHS policies, proper PPE usage, and support implementation of global EHS initiatives
* Support facility and utility maintenance in filling areas, including routine inspections and building maintenance record reviews
* Oversee waste and hazardous material disposal in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
* Work with QA to manage deviations, change controls, impact assessments, CAPAs, and continuous improvement efforts
* Drive operational excellence by promoting 6S practices and preparing accurate daily and monthly maintenance reports
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
* Minimum of a Bachelor's Engineering Degree and 5+ years’ experience in an engineering role preferably within the pharmaceutical/ medical device industry. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
* Ability to set clear goals, communicate these clearly and ensure progress to completion meeting predefined targets.
* Ability to provide leadership, develop and training of team members
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong organizational, interpersonal skills. the ability to effectively communicate with peers.
* Ability to respond quickly to a changing production environment
* Structure skills to create and execute a preventative maintenance program that ensure plant and equipment reliability.
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong work ethic.
* Ability to work cross functionally with all other department.
* Computer skills, E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
