Our target market includes SMEs and large enterprises across Ireland.The OpportunityWe are looking for a motivated Trainee Technical Operations Assistant to join our growing Dublin team. This is an exciting entry-level hands-on role where you will gain experience with telematics hardware, field installations, and customer support, all under the guidance of an experienced Technical Manager. Full training will be provided making this role ideal for someone starting a career without prior technical or mechanical qualifications.Please note: This position is only open to candidates who have the legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland. Any unsolicited CVs received from recruiters without prior agreement will be considered a gift and will not incur a fee.Key Responsibilities:Hardware Setup and Testing:· Assist with the wiring, programming, and basic testing of tracking and camera units.· Follow build/test checklists and use diagnostic tools under supervision.Field and Operational Support:· Shadow and support the Technical Manager during installations, repairs, and troubleshooting, including accompanying them to client sites if required.· Assist with preparation of equipment and documentation for field deployments.· Liaise with engineers in the field (as directed) to understand deployment workflows and support smooth job execution.Customer Interaction Support:· Under supervision where required, handle basic customer queries and hardware, escalating technical issues when required.· Assist in documenting issues and solutions in our CRM system.CRM and Admin:· Maintain accurate job records, support cases, and logs in the CRM.· Support the preparation of invoices for completed jobs.· Update internal systems with job status, stock usage, and service outcomes.Workshop and Inventory Control:· Maintain stock records, packaging units, and keep the workspace organised.· Support the processing of returned units and basic refurbishment tasks.Training and DevelopmentYou will receive hands-on, on-the-job training with GPS tracking, telematics, and camera hardware in real customer environments. Over time, you will gain experience reading wiring diagrams, using configuration and diagnostic tools, performing firmware updates, and supporting field installations. You will also become familiar with basic programming tools and backend systems, as well as CRM and ERP software for managing jobs and customer records.
