Job Advert Staff Grade Medical Scientist Multidisciplinary Full-time (35 hours per week) | Permanent | Candidate Criteria: Essential Eligibility Criteria: The ideal candidate will possess therequired qualifications for a Basic Grade Medical Scientist as stipulated by the HSE: (Ref HSE Grade Code ****) and by the Department of Health Registration as a Medical Scientist with CORU is essential.
Applicants must be eligible for Fellowship membership of The Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine.
Have some clinical post qualification experience as a Medical Scientist in Biochemistry is desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with advancements in laboratory technology and quality practices.
Be competent, innovative, reliable, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
Excellent planning & organizational skills Role Responsibilities of the post include, and are not limited to: Perform routine work to the highest standard, as determined by laboratory management.
Ensure that all samples are processed in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Be responsible for the quality of work in the laboratory and carry out duties in accordance with hospital policy.
Observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of patient or hospital information.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures in the performance of tests within the laboratory and actively promote Quality aspects of the work done Participate in internal and external quality control and quality assurance.
Participate in care and maintenance of equipment and decontamination and cleaning of departments as required.
Participate in record keeping.
To perform tasks and duties in a manner that ensures compliance with relevant regulations so that the requirements of International standard ISO ***** (current version), JCI ACCREDITATION STANDARDS for hospitals and relevant Medical Devices Directives *****/EC and *****/EC are met.
