Ayrton Group are seeking an Ergonomist for a part-time position with our client, a large tech organisation, in the Cork region.
This is an initial 6 month contract role 2 days per week with the potential for further extension.
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively communicating and delivering on the Ergonomic & Health & Safety management system/s within a large organization through the provision of efficient and professional services.
This role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ergonomics program in-country, supporting employees through in-person and virtual ergonomics training. This role includes, but is not limited to:
Improving continually the Ergonomic programs and implementing these.
Working with EMEA Ergonomics Program Manager to ensure customer satisfaction, lead‑time, and product quality are acceptable.
Performing office ergonomics evaluations, risk assessments, conducting group training and workshops, development and marketing of the ergonomics program.
Supporting managers, ER, HR and Occupational Health with accommodation requests.
Providing employee education and coaching in safe work practices to prevent injury and illness.
Completing Ergonomic risk assessments – desk based (VDU, DSE, workstation), as well as remotely.
Providing support services to those working remotely and helping set staff up for home working.
Innovation to manage the ergonomic programs.
Preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly management reviews.
Responsibility for specific elements of the ergonomic program in a large organization.
Documenting metrics based on set KPIs, tracking metrics and reporting monthly.
Proactively engaging with business units in order to promote and develop the Ergonomics program.
You will continually anticipate opportunities for process improvement and be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any program improvements, while seeking innovative improvements.
Key Requirements:
Degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Kinesiology, Ergonomics and Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, or other related field.
2+ years providing ergonomics services to a variety of work environments (e.g., office, lab, warehouse, and/or manufacturing) preferred.
Extensive experience in Office ergonomics. Demonstrated experience in completing office evaluations both in person and remotely.
Demonstrated experience in Industrial Ergonomics environments (manufacturing/lab/warehouse/Design) is a bonus.
Knowledge of biomechanics, musculoskeletal anatomy and ergonomics engineering principles.
Familiarity with quantitative ergonomics risk-assessment techniques. Experience using multiple ergonomic evaluation tools (MAC, ART, RULA, REEBA etc).
Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, concise and technically correct written work products and reports.
Excellent verbal communication skills, organisational, analytical, and influencing/interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to initiate and sustain productive business relationships.
Excellent project management skills, including the identification and scheduling of project deliverables, milestones, tasks and deadlines.
Proven presentation skills with ability to present technical information and concepts in order to initiate innovation, change and drive initiatives to successful completion both virtually and in-person.
Good problem solving skills with ability to develop new ideas in order to provide innovative solutions.
Knowledge and understanding of Manual Material Handling principles. QQI Level 6 Manual Handling Instructor certification a bonus.
Experience working with basic computer programs such as Keynote, Excel etc.,
