About Us:Saint John of God Community Services Liffey Region supports individuals with intellectual disabilities to be active participants within the community they live in, gain valued social roles, and have a day that is meaningful to them.
Job Opportunity:We are inviting applications for the position of Care/Programme Assistantsbased in North Kildare/ Dublin South-West to provide support and care to individuals with an intellectual disability.
Position: Health Care Assistants - Residential/ Day Services
Working week (39hrs/19.5hrs a week Mon-Fri)
Suitably qualified candidates must have:
A strong interest in supporting people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their goals in life
A good sense of fun and be happy to support people to enjoy life to their full potential in their community
Successfully completed a relevant QQI certificate (formerly FETAC) at level 5
Minimum of one year's continuous paid employment on a full-time basis working with people with intellectual disability
Experience of respectfully supporting people with their personal care
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and experience of using computers, internet, and digital programmes
Development and delivery of supports through a person-centred/directed approach
Full clean manual driving licence essential and a willingness to drive
Flexible in all aspects of work
An understanding of HSE New Directions and HSE national policy of Safeguarding
An understanding of the values and ethos of the organisation and a commitment to implementing these
