As
Head of Software Engineering
, you'll own the firm's technology strategy and delivery, working in close partnership with the CTO and executive leadership team. This is more than a leadership post – it's a defined
succession path to CTO
, giving you the platform to step into the top technology role within a few years.
You'll lead and mentor a strong engineering function, modernise platforms, and ensure technology continues to drive the firm's competitive edge in a sophisticated, performance-driven environment.
What you'll do:
* Take full ownership of development strategy, roadmap, and execution across mission-critical systems.
* Lead, inspire, and grow a lean but high-impact engineering team delivering at scale.
* Drive adoption of modern engineering practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, cloud-native).
* Partner with investment leaders and the C-suite to ensure technology directly enables business growth and operational efficiency.
* Make strategic decisions with measurable impact on profitability, scalability, and client value.
* Position yourself as successor to the CTO, actively developing toward that future role.
What you bring:
* 10+ years' experience leading software engineering teams, ideally within financial services or asset/investment management.
* Proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade, cloud-native, high-availability platforms.
* Strong track record leading lean engineering teams while embedding best-in-class practices.
* Commercially minded with excellent communication skills and proven success influencing at senior executive level.
* Experience with technology strategy, governance, and budget ownership.
* Deep expertise in cloud technologies and modern development methodologies.
The Rewards:
* Base Salary: €140,000 – €170,000 (DOE)
* 20% Bonus
* 5% Pension Match
