IT Support Engineer – 3-Month Contract | Dublin (On-site)
About the role
We are looking to hire an experienced desk side engineer to support the delivery of a comprehensive desk cabling audit and remediation project across approximately 850 desks in our Dublin office. The role will focus on improving cable management, removing legacy cabling, and implementing a new standard for desk-side connectivity that will deliver seamless experience to end users.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct physical audits of desk-side cabling across all office floors
Propose improvements to optimize the cabling infrastructure including:
* Removal of obsolete or legacy cabling
* Installation and routing of new network, power, AV/VC cabling, etc.
* Implement cable management best practices to declutter the user workspace
* Document cabling standards and contribute to the creation of a repeatable setup guide.
* Work closely with the IT Operations and Facilities teams to coordinate access and logistics
* Assist the service desk and/or end-users with troubleshooting connectivity and hardware issues related to cabling
* Report progress and blockers to the IT Operations team on a regular basis.
Required Skills & Experience
* At least 2–3 years' experience in a deskside support engineer or IT infrastructure role.
* Proven experience in office moves or large-scale IT fit-outs
* Familiarity with cable standards, routing, patching, and termination.
* Ability to read and interpret basic floor plans and cable layouts.
* Comfortable working under desks and in confined spaces.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to physical work.

Desirable Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
* Relevant Industry certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ highly desirable
* Strong knowledge of network and end-user computing [laptop, monitors, etc.] hardware
* ITIL Foundation or similar service management awareness.
* Experience of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
