We are currently recruiting for a Caretaker to join our PPP CNU contract in Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland on a full‑time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be subject to Garda Vetting and will need to work flexible shifts to cover Monday to Sunday 8am‑8pm, including weekends.
Responsibilities
Support the Facilities Site Lead in promoting a culture of excellent customer service and establish strong working relationships with the client.
Assist the Facilities Site Lead in reviewing existing services, specifications, processes, and quality controls to increase efficient use of resources.
Adhere to client requests in a timely manner with a strong customer focus via the maintenance management system.
Manage subcontractors on site and follow company contractor management guidelines, including the Safe Work Plan (SWP).
Proactively identify building faults, apply immediate fixes, or ensure safe conditions and contact the appropriate contractor.
Show flexibility in working shifts, with potential for late closing or early opening depending on client requirements.
Ensure all health and safety legislation and company policy are adhered to, within the own level of responsibility, including the role of Fire Warden and/or First Aider as required.
Assist the Facilities Site Lead in undertaking regular site and service inspection tours and identifying areas not adhered to quality standards.
Contribute positively to the performance of the business and build strong local relationships with the client and internal teams.
Adhere to company health and safety rules and regulations when on site.
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge
Experienced Caretaker with a background in multiple workstreams.
Completed Garda Vetting process.
Proficient and comfortable using IT software.
Demonstrated health and safety awareness with a thorough understanding of quality systems.
Capable of prioritising tasks and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail regarding level of output and quality.
Experience in Facilities Management and/or Engineering/Construction environments is ideal.
