The RNLI Regional Technician
We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Regional Technician to join our cutting-edge technical team at the RNLI in Ireland. The successful candidate will have mechanical and electrical knowledge, working with full-time staff and volunteers to maintain advanced equipment.
Development and training will be provided to ensure your skills can be utilized fully within the RNLI. We welcome enquiries from suitably qualified technicians interested in supporting our search and rescue assets across Ireland.
About the Role
* You will work as part of a unique and professional team, collaborating with Lifeboat Station Mechanics, Lifeguards, Contractors, and other technical staff.
* Your duties will include planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, and defect repair on Lifeguard equipment, Lifeboats, and launching equipment.
Trials of existing and repaired equipment will be part of your responsibilities, requiring excellent mechanical and electrical knowledge. You should also be willing to learn and adapt to new technology and equipment.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a time-served mechanical or electrical/electronic apprenticeship or a sound background in engineering. Relevant qualifications and experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic engineering would be advantageous.
A full driving licence is required, along with the flexibility to work out of hours and be on a call-out roster. Travel with nights away will also be necessary throughout the Ireland Region.
Beneficial but not essential qualifications include a driving licence B+E for towing, forklift licence, IOSH, Working at Height, PASMA & PA testing. If required, training will be provided for these.
