Are you passionate about agriculture and looking for a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to grow your career? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Farm Manager to join our client’s team.

With operations across multiple continents, they are committed to sustainable farming practices and cutting-edge agricultural technology. The company supplies premium agricultural products to international markets, ensuring efficiency, quality, and innovation in all aspects of their operations.

As Assistant Farm Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management of the farm’s entire operations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day farm activities, managing resources effectively, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and productivity are met.

Responsibilities:

* Operations:
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices
* Manage day-to-day farm operations, including crops and inputs management
* Oversee irrigation activities and production planning and execution
* Coordinate activities between the farm and dehydration plant to ensure seamless operations
* Ensure quality and traceability of production processes
* Monitor technological and process improvements and update production plans accordingly
* Administration:
* Prepare annual budget in collaboration with the Farm Manager
* Oversee budget expenditure and ensure alignment with budgetary constraints
* Monitor costs and implement internal controls to comply with local laws and management guidelines
* Prepare replacement and capital expenditure plans to maintain and develop farm operating efficiencies
* Health and Safety:
* Ensure a safe working environment for all staff
* Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures
* Collaborate with training initiatives on health and safety
* Coordinate efforts to minimize workplace hazards and implement corrective actions as needed

Candidate Requirements:

* University or agricultural college graduate with relevant postgraduate courses (Agricultural Engineer).
* 6+ years of relevant experience.
* Languages: English; Spanish an advantage but not essential (Where needed, language training is provided to facilitate communication from a basic operational perspective).
* General Computer Skills:
* General knowledge of SAP operations helpful.
* Managerial Skills:
* Demonstrated leadership skills.
* Ability to manage and prioritize time effectively.
* Proficient in planning, organizing, decision-making and scheduling work.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
* Excellent problem analysis with the ability to propose effective solutions.
* Behavioral Skills:
* Highly attentive to detail.
* Friendly and approachable demeanor.

Remuneration:

Our client is considering a ‘fly-in, fly-out' arrangement, specifically 6 weeks in Argentina followed by 2 weeks in their home countries, this aims to balance work commitments and family time. As an indication salary, tax paid, will be $73,600 and additional benefits provided are:

* Target bonus 2 months (based on performance and company financial results).
