We are looking for an HVAC/Projects Engineer to manage the installation, commissioning, validation, and optimisation of critical HVAC and cleanroom systems within pharmaceutical and controlled environments, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high-quality facility performance.
The HVAC/Projects Engineer is responsible for the validation, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimisation of critical HVAC and clean environment systems used in pharmaceutical, laboratory, and controlled environments. This role ensures all systems meet compliance standards, operate efficiently, and support safe, high-quality facility performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Validation & Compliance:
Perform validation of fume cupboards, Class 1 & Class 2 microbiological safety cabinets, pharmaceutical isolators, and laminar airflow booths/benches.
Conduct Air Cleanliness Classification assessments for cleanrooms.
Identify non-compliance issues, diagnose root causes, and implement effective corrective actions for clients.
Install and integrity test HEPA filters.
Installation of small ducted systems.
Commission HVAC systems including air handling units (AHUs), air, water and process exhaust systems.
Support the installation and functional testing of humidification/de-humidification systems and process exhaust scrubbers.
HVAC System Maintenance & Mechanical Work:
Provide mechanical maintenance for critical HVAC equipment: AHUs, humidifiers, de-humidifiers, fan bearings, process exhaust scrubbers, etc.
Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks in line with quality and safety standards.
Optimise system performance for energy efficiency.Technical Documentation & Drawings:
Perform HVAC system surveys and develop technical drawings.
Requirements
Qualifications & Professional background:
Relevant t technical qualification (Engineering, Building Services, Refrigeration, Project Management or similar) – preferred.
Experience in HVAC, mechanical, building services or related environments, with willingness to learn and develop.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls and mechanical installations
