Job Description
* To improve medical devices, we are seeking a Process Scientist with expertise in chemical and materials technology.
Key Responsibilities:
* Research new materials to reduce costs and enhance performance.
* Develop and refine existing products by applying chemical and polymeric materials knowledge.
* Collaborate with customers to design and develop new materials as needed.
* Analyze work results, identify causes of variances, and recommend corrective actions.
* Lead or assist engineers and technicians in specific assignments, working closely with the Value stream technical team.
* Evaluate and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria, making adaptations and modifications as needed.
* Investigate technical variables to complete assignments with clear objectives.
* Perform work using conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features.
* Develop test methods to verify hypotheses related to chemical and materials technologies.
* Design and develop test methods to predict the performance of polymeric materials, products, and technologies.
* Work independently on standard projects, receiving assistance on unusual problems.
* Receive instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
* Perform work at a higher technical level for continuing training purposes.
* Participate in special projects, write engineering change notifications, and create prototypes under broad direction.
* May have authority over non-conforming material reports.
* Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related technical field, and 5+ years of experience.
* Ability to apply analytical skills and scientific principles in problem-solving and development.
* Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database, and other applicable software programs.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team member.
