My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Payroll / Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis.
Candidates will need to have a minimum of five years' experience in a similar role
Candidates must have a strong payroll background and be proficient in processing end to end payroll
Experience using Brightpay, Sage Line 50 and Excel are a distinct advantage
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing and processing weekly payroll for Group employees using current manual timesheet system.
* Ensuring all payments and deductions are made as required including pension contributions and other deductions.
* Reconcile payroll reports to nominal ledger balances.
* Manage future migration from manual to automated time and attendance system.
* Maintain compliance records for all employees including contracts of employment, etc.
* Daily bank transaction postings and bank reconciliations.
* Assisting with monthly management accounts process:
* Month end reconciliations and controls
* Ensuring debtors/creditors balances agree with monthly trial balance
* Management of Group Credit Cards including reconciliation of receipts and posting transactions.
* Set up new suppliers/supplier amendments and maintain bank details on Sage.
* Preparing and processing of supplier payments on a weekly and monthly basis as required.
* Assisting with general administration duties as required including answering phones, dealing with customers, arranging travel etc.
* Other ad hoc or project work as required by the Group Financial Controller
The Person
Key Skills:
* At least 5+ years’ experience in finance department in commercial environment.
* Part qualified accountant or accounting technician qualification (or equivalent).
* Strong payroll experience and understanding of accounting procedures.
* Experience with automated Time and Attendance systems
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly proficient in MS Excel and finance systems. Sage 50 experience a bonus.
* Confident communicating with senior management.
* Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
* Positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented highly organised individual.
* An effective team player, who demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to follow through to completion of tasks.
