Senior Recruitment Consultant @ GPC Finance | Specialising in Accounting & Finance Recruitment
A leading Irish provider of accountancy and advisory services is seeking a recently qualified accountant to join their Galway team. This role offers strong career progression and the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and complete client files and financial statements (from start to finish) to a high professional standard, ensuring delivery within budget and deadlines.
* Manage accounts preparation and income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, and company directors.
* Draft financial reports and present results of engagements to the engagement manager.
* Supervise and train junior staff, providing technical guidance and leadership on client assignments.
* Identify and address areas of non-compliance with accounting standards.
* Contribute to statutory accounting, compliance, and related services across a wide client base.
* Engage in client relationship management, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded.
* Support continuous team development through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
* Some travel may be required, depending on client assignments.
Requirements
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), with 1–2 years’ post-qualification experience.
* Background in practice, with an interest in broadening skills and taking on new challenges.
* Strong business acumen and ability to act as an effective advisor to clients.
* Proven experience in preparing Irish income tax and related returns.
* Skilled in report writing and presenting to senior management.
* Experience supervising assignments and managing client relationships.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork capability, and ability to work independently.
* Strong organisational, planning, and time-management skills, with experience delivering under pressure.
