Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) is an exciting and dynamic place to work. Purpose of the role:
The Grade VII will support TUH’s Information Governance functions, fostering high standards in personal data management and FOI requests. They will deputise for the Data Protection Officer as needed and develop effective relationships across the hospital.
Overview of role:
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Information Governance: Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures; ensure compliance with HIQA standards; analyze service developments; contribute to best practices; promote data management standards.
* Data Protection: Assist with DPIAs, TOMs, Data Processing Agreements; ensure compliance with GDPR; handle Data Subject Access Requests; support the Data Protection Officer.
* Freedom of Information: Operate as FOI Decision Maker; manage FOI team; ensure statutory compliance; liaise with OIC.
* Management: Oversee staff management; promote dignity and respect; develop relationships; monitor procedures; manage projects; utilize technology.
The successful candidate will undertake any other reasonable tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and experience required:
Must have:
* Relevant third-level qualification (QQI level 7 or above), preferably in Privacy Law, Healthcare Management, or related fields.
* Minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience in health sector.
* Experience promoting Information Governance culture.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation (Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, FOI Act 2014, HIQA standards).
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
* Training in FOI and Data Protection.
* Proficiency in MS Office.
* Fluent in English.
Desirable:
* Experience with regulatory bodies.
* Personal qualification in Data Protection / FOI.

* Working hours: 37 hours/week, flexible between 8 am and 8 pm, 7 days a week.
