About the Role As a senior role model, you will champion best practice in Infection Control, providing expert clinical guidance and support to the multi-professional team.
You will play a key role in developing staff across the organisation, using education and training resources to promote continuous improvement and foster a culture of openness, collaboration, and effective communication.
You will lead the Nursing Infection Control Team and hold responsibility for coordinating and delivering Infection Control activities throughout the hospital.
Key Responsibilities Lead, support, and develop Infection Control practice across the hospital Audit and assess infection control practices at ward and departmental level, making evidence-based recommendations for improvement in collaboration with Infection Control Consultants Monitor infection risks, rates, and trends, reporting outcomes to the Infection Control Committee Investigate and manage outbreaks of infection, advising on appropriate actions in partnership with the Infection Control Doctor and reporting findings to the Infection Control Committee Investigate increases in healthcare-associated (nosocomial) infections and recommend practice changes as required Act as a specialist advisor to hospital staff on Infection Control matters, promoting best practice at all times Educate, support, and regularly update staff on Infection Control policies, procedures, and emerging issues Requirements Registered General Nurse.
Minimum 5 years post registration experience Higher diploma in Infection Control desirable Previous IPC experience Be on the live register with NMBI.
