About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Environmental Services to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a critical role within our communities, you will impact residents' lives through strong leadership and motivation of our team members.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Planning and Coordination: Plan, coordinate, direct, and monitor the effectiveness of all operational activities within the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance departments.
2. Maintenance and Inspections: Complete routine preventative maintenance to ensure safe operation of equipment and building systems, proper operation of fire safety equipment, and compliance with legislation.
3. Budgeting and Inventory Management: Prepare budgets, develop inventories of supplies and equipment, and requisition new or replacement items.
4. Liaison and Communication: Act as a liaison for the community, communicating with outside service providers to ensure work completion and contract maintenance.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate with outside agencies for inspections and investigations in accordance with legislation and standards.
6. Human Resources: Participate in recruitment, team member and labor relations, orientation, performance management, training, and other HR functions for department team members.
Requirements
* Education and Experience: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent and experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
* Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of evidence-based and best practices related to housekeeping and laundry, basic computer skills including Word and Excel, and valid driver's license (applicable to BC applicants).
* Long-Term Care Legislation: Knowledge of Long-Term Care legislation, standards, regulations, and safety laws.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in Long-Term Care: Experience working in a Long Term Care setting is an asset.
