The role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Manager to join our HR department at Simmons & Simmons.
This is a hands-on HR position, providing people related support to the Dublin office whilst driving key HR initiatives.
The role involves working closely with the Dublin Country Head, partners and team members.
The role requires a proactive and collaborative approach to HR service delivery.
We are looking for a part-time candidate, ideally available three days per week.
This position marks the first dedicated HR presence in our Dublin office, joining at a pivotal time of growth.
You will be fully integrated into the local team and will collaborate closely with partners and colleagues across the office to support our people agenda and business objectives.
You will also be supported by the UK HR team and Chief People Officer.
What will you do:
HR processes
: Take ownership of all daily HR processes, including secondments, new joiners, parental leave and leavers processes.
Employee life cycle support
: Undertake new joiner, exit, maternity and sickness interviews, ensuring a consistent and supportive employee experience.
Gather insights, identify recurring themes, and help translate feedback into actionable improvements.
Stakeholder engagement
: Provide pro-active HR support to the Dublin Country Head and Practice Group Heads on people related matters.
Meet with key stakeholders regularly and act as a trusted advisor on all matters related to HR.
Employee relations
: Provide advice to employees on work-related concerns and ensure that issues are handled professionally and empathetically, taking the requirements of both the firm and the individual(s) into account.
Manage, where appropriate, formal investigations and meetings, including grievance, disciplinary and redundancy meetings, always adhering to the relevant firm policies and taking legal advice where required.
Performance management
: Advise line managers and reviewing partners on how to handle performance issues in line with relevant HR policies on an on-going basis.
Challenge and support line managers and reviewing partners to maximise the performance and potential of employees within the business.
Annual review cycle
: Lead and co-ordinate the annual appraisal and salary review process, ensuring that this is conducted efficiently and accurately.
Work closely with the Reward team and undertake salary/benefits research and/or analysis where required and lead the partners and senior team members through the annual review cycle.
HR policies and procedures
: Ensure that all HR policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and continue to reflect both up-to-date employment law and best practice.
HR system administration
: Manage and maintain all HR systems, including Workday for joiners, leavers, updates and reporting, Objective Manager for performance management and CVMail for recruitment tracking.
Early careers support
: Assist the UK Early Careers team with Dublin based trainee recruitment and development where required.
Recruitment coordination
: Assist the UK recruitment team with Dublin based recruitment where required.
What we are looking for:
Extensive HR experience
in a professional services environment and ideally at manager or equivalent level.
Part-time support
, ideally three days per week.
Experience managing core HR processes
, including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
Proactive and delivery focused,
with strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality delivery.
Advanced employee relations and stakeholder management skills
, with the ability to navigate sensitive issues confidently and diplomatically.
A high level of discretion and professionalism,
with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with integrity and care.
Experience influencing senior stakeholders.
Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines
