We are recruiting a Housekeeping & Laundry Assistant to join our care team at Oakfield Nursing Home.
Working as part of a team, the post holder will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and best practices in compliance with our health and safety and company policies.
Requirements
* Relevant experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues and residents.
* Capacity to uphold high standards of cleanliness when dealing with residents.
* Good verbal and written English skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor stock levels of all equipment and supplies.
* Keep checklists updated and work closely with the Housekeeping & Laundry Manager / Director of Nursing to ensure smooth daily operations.
* Ensure residents' rooms are clean and tidy to the highest standards.
* Carry out all work with resident safety in mind.
* Adhere to infection control guidelines at all times.
* Collaborate and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
* Report all incidents to the Housekeeping & Laundry Manager / Director of Nursing.
* Maintain a professional, friendly, and approachable manner with residents, visitors, and staff.
* Liaise regarding new admissions and ensure residents' clothes are labeled.
* Participate in service monitoring, audits, and evaluations.
* Attend scheduled staff, resident, and departmental meetings.
* Handle laundry tasks, including washing, drying, ironing, and folding, in accordance with infection control policies.
* Identify and label residents' clothing to prevent loss.
* Deliver residents' clothing neatly and ensure wardrobes and drawers are tidy.
* Keep the laundry area clean and organized, including cleaning equipment and floors daily.
