KildareThe RoleAt OpenSky Data Systems, we are seeking a seasoned Head of Business Development with a proven track record in Professional Services Sales within the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Sectors in Ireland and Europe.You will join a dynamic and growing team, working with OpenSky expert consultants in the areas of Digital & Cloud Automation, Application Modernisation, and AI services.The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, dedicated to developing enterprise business opportunities and building long-term partnerships with pharmaceutical clients capable of driving opportunities through strategic networking, supported by a high-performing sales and marketing team.Key ResponsibilitiesLead business development efforts with pharmaceutical companies, identifying and fostering relationships with key decision-makers, including C-suite executives both within Ireland and abroad.Cultivate existing pharmaceutical and healthcare client relationships, while maintaining a strong focus on identifying new opportunities and expanding OpenSky’s client base in these industries.Lead negotiations for contracts covering consulting services, fixed-price development, and managed services agreements.Work closely with OpenSky's expert consultants in areas such as Digital & Cloud Automation, Application Modernisation, and AI-driven solutions tailored to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.Assist in developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns and events, showcasing the value of OpenSky’s solutions in addressing challenges unique to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.Collaborate with the Tender Bid team to create compelling proposals and tender responses, leveraging insights gained through your engagement with clients.Travel throughout Ireland and Europe to cultivate client relationships, which is a key requirement of this role.Qualifications / SkillsMinimum of 8 years' experience in IT professional services sales, with a focus on pharmaceutical and healthcare clients, Cloud Services, and/or digital platforms.Demonstrated ability in building and maintaining relationships with senior executives in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Sectors.Must be an EU Passport holder, as travel across Ireland and Europe is required.Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a highly competitive environment.A constructive sales approach, grounded in transparency and trust.Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry, including regulatory, operational, and digital transformation trends.Ability to articulate OpenSky's success stories and translate technical solutions into compelling business benefits for clients.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Technical) to deliver exceptional value to clients.Ability to maximise the quality and flow of information from customers back to the business to support the sales and tender processes.Own transport is required.What We OfferYou will be part of a high-performance team, working together to deliver projects of national and international importance, changing the way large businesses and governments work.Incremental increases in annual leaveContinuous professional developmentRemote working abroadEducation assistance programmeDigital doctor serviceHybrid workingEmployee assistance programme (EAP)Why Join Our TeamOpenSky Data Systems is a European challenger brand to the large global software consultancies, delivering innovation across government, transport, environment, and health sectors in Ireland and the UK.
