Board Trustee (with Mental Health Clinical Governance expertise)
Sherrard House, formerly the Homeless Girls Society, was founded in 1969 by the Dominican Order to provide emergency and residential services for girls aged 13 to 18 years in Dublin city centre. Sherrard House has become an invaluable part of Ireland's residential care provision.
The services include one emergency bed for the Crisis Intervention Prevention Service (CISP), which operates nationally out of hours, and four residential beds funded by TUSLA under the Section 56 agreement.
The service is managed by a centre manager and a deputy manager, supported by a team of four social care leaders, four full-time social care workers, three part-time social care workers, and five relief workers.
The management is overseen by a voluntary Board of Directors, comprising professionals from various fields including accounting, finance, legal, psychology, social work, estate management, and other supportive professions, whose input is vital for structured service management.
