Senior Support Service
COPE Galway Senior Support Service supports older people to live healthy, independent and connected lives in their homes and communities. We provide a range of social, nutritional and practical supports through our community support programme, befriending services and community spaces like Sonas Day Centre and The Bungalow. These are welcoming spaces where older people can meet, receive support, and participate in social and wellbeing activities.
We also offer a premium meal delivery service through Meals4Health, a COPE Galway social enterprise which prepares nutritious, tasty, and affordable meals and delivers them to people at their homes.

About Meals4Health
Meals4Health ) produces and home delivers fresh ready meals to meet the nutritional needs of older people and people living with chronic illness.
As a commercial enterprise, we focus on providing top quality products and service to our customers. As a social enterprise, we focus on meeting a community need and involving the community to ensure that our service is inclusive and responsive to those experiencing disadvantage or marginalization.
A key feature of Meals4Health is improving the employability of long-term unemployed people by providing real work experience, accredited training, mentoring, tailored interventions and support in a commercial business environment. At Meals4Health we balance the requirement for commercial profitability with the provision of quality, nutritious food to underserved communities.
The Role
The ideal candidate will be confident in managing all aspects of kitchen management, building relationships across a range of stakeholders, be a good communicator, and consistently innovate and achieve goals.
Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of the kitchen functions, food preparation, inventory management, staff & volunteer supervision, budgeting.
* Compliance: ensure compliance with food safety, health, and safety regulations.
* Develop and support innovation in product development to best meet needs our ageing population, people living with chronic illness or disability.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, and nutritional research to ensure the service continues to support older people and vulnerable groups through nutritious meals.
* Support opportunities for social and community employment by championing aprotective and supportive workplace environment, for individuals who are long term unemployed or may need additional supports in the workplace.

* Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to adapt to new situations

* Excellent IT skills, with Microsoft Office capabilities
* Full drivers license
Education and Training
* 3rd Level qualification (ideally Level 6 or higher NFQ Major award) relevant to the role.
* Evidence of ongoing training and upskilling
