Overview
We are recruiting a part-time Purchasing Assistant for our 153 bedroomed, 4* Galway Bay Hotel located on the Salthill Promenade just outside Galway City. The candidate will support the purchasing department and gain exposure to several departments across the hotel, working primarily with the Purchasing Manager with the opportunity to grow and develop within the hotel. This is an entry level position.

Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders for supplies, equipment, and services as required by various departments.
* Become a key user of the hotel\'s procurement tool (Procure Wizard) and support departments to ensure the hotel maximizes the system.
* Receipt deliveries and support investigations on discrepancies against deliveries, ensuring deliveries match Purchase Orders.
* Work with the Purchasing Manager to ensure proper storage, security and distribution of deliveries within the hotel.
* Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply for operational needs.
* Assist with stock counts and maintain accurate records.
* Manage stock rooms by organizing and rotating stock as necessary.
* Keep back of house areas tidy.
* Ensure Health and Safety standards are complied with.
* Ensure security and safety protocols are followed in hotel car park and delivery areas.
* Manage stationery and related office supplies.
Skills & Experience
* Fluent level of both written and spoken English
* Minimum of 1–2 years in a similar role is desirable
* Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and be proactive in problem solving
* Good communication skills
* High level of computer literacy
