OverviewThe Sustainability Coordinator (Housing & Communities) will support the delivery of Tuath's sustainability strategy with a strong emphasis on housing operations, tenant engagement and community-based sustainability initiatives. The role combines sustainability coordination, community engagement, project delivery and impact measurement, ensuring residents are supported to live lower-carbon and more sustainable lifestyles. Working closely with Housing, Communities, Asset Management and Sustainability teams, the post holder will help embed social and environmental sustainability across homes, estates and communities. The position is suited to a sustainability professional with experience of housing, communities or the Approved Housing Body (AHB) sector, and a strong interest in tenant-facing climate action, community development and social sustainability.
Responsibilities

Housing & Community Sustainability: Support the Sustainability Manager in implementing Tuath's organisational-wide Sustainability Strategy, with a particular focus on Housing and Communities.
Coordinate tenant-facing sustainability initiatives including workshops, events, surveys, resident panels and green community campaigns.
Support and engage residents to live more sustainable, low-carbon lifestyles across energy, waste, food, transport and resource use.
Strengthen links between sustainability, housing management and community engagement to capture social sustainability outcomes.
Support tenant-led sustainability projects, including coordination of Tuath's Resident Climate Action Fund, resident support and impact assessment.
Monitoring, Measurement & Impact: Coordinate collection of data and qualitative information to measure the impact of housing and community sustainability initiatives.
Support sustainability KPI tracking relating to tenant engagement, behaviour change and community outcomes.
Assist with sustainability reporting requirements, including contributions to GRI and Tuath's annual sustainability report.
Support the development of reports such as energy poverty, tenant energy use and community impact assessments.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including community groups, local authorities, NGOs and delivery partners.
Participate in relevant forums, working groups and networks to stay informed on best practice in housing and community sustainability.
Play an active role within the Tuath Green Team to promote employee engagement through campaigns, communications and events.
Project Coordination & Research: Coordinate sustainability-related projects from planning through to delivery within housing and community contexts.
Research sustainability best practice, funding opportunities and emerging trends relevant to social housing and communities.
General Responsibilities: Support the effective administration of the sustainability function in line with organisational objectives; maintain and update sustainability-related information and resources on internal systems; contribute to the formulation, review and implementation of relevant policies and procedures; comply with all health and safety requirements and organisational policies; undertake continuous professional development as required; carry out other duties appropriate to the role as reasonably assigned.

Qualifications

Essential
3-5 years' experience in sustainability, housing, community engagement, ESG or a related role.
Experience of tenant or community engagement within housing or social/community settings.
Strong organisational, coordination and written communication skills.
Understanding of sustainability issues within housing, communities and the built environment.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.
Full clean driver's licence with access to own transport.


Desirable
Experience working within an Approved Housing Body (AHB) or social housing context.
Experience delivering community-based sustainability or climate action projects.
Knowledge of energy poverty, low-carbon housing, waste management or biodiversity initiatives.
Project Management experience or qualifications.

Education & Qualifications

Degree in sustainability, environmental studies, housing, community development, engineering or a related discipline.
