We are seeking a highly motivated Operational Control Manager to oversee and enhance our firm’s control framework, ensuring operational risks are effectively managed within our financial services environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks and process efficiencies while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices across our Operational Departments.
What you'll do but not limited to:
Operational Risk & Control Management:
* Develop, implement, and maintain an effective operational control framework across business processes.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks to safeguard the organization from financial, regulatory, and reputational risks.
* Establish key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational control effectiveness.
* Lead risk control assessments (RCAs) and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.
* Cost control of claims by monitoring and highlighting processes and behaviours that affect loss ratios
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and external audit requirements.
* Work closely with compliance and legal teams to align control measures with regulatory expectations.
* Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and implementing corrective actions.
Process & Control Improvements:
* Manage and oversee organizational processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
* Analyse existing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
* Collaborate with various departments to streamline operations and integrate new processes.
* Drive continuous improvement in operational processes by identifying inefficiencies, recommending, developing and implementing enhancements.
* Implement robust internal controls and ensure best practices in operational risk management.
* Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
* Collaborate with senior management, business units, and risk teams to enhance operational resilience.
* Provide regular reports on control effectiveness, risk exposure, and mitigation strategies to leadership.
* Lead training and awareness programs to promote a strong risk and control culture across the organization.
Working Hours:
Full-time: 35 hours per week, core days are Mon – Fri. 9am to 5pm.
As we are a 24/7 operations team an element of outside business hours/days and might be expected with this role.
What we’re looking for:
* APA or CIP qualifications are a requirement for this role
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
