Overview
ATG are seeking an ambitious and experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join a Dublin office. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading design teams, managing projects, and providing technical leadership on a wide variety of structural engineering projects. You will be a client-facing representative, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard while supporting the strategic growth of the business.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage structural design projects from concept through to completion.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
* Carry out detailed structural analysis and design across steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures in accordance with Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
* Review and approve design deliverables, drawings, and reports.
* Engage with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to develop strong working relationships.
* Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
* Contribute to business development through bid preparation, proposal writing, and client presentations.
* Ensure all work is compliant with health & safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
* Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional body.
* 8+ years’ experience in structural design and project delivery, ideally within consultancy.
* Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on medium to large-scale projects.
* Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, Irish/UK building regulations, and industry standards.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
* Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Robot, Etabs, Tedds, or similar).
* Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to business development.
