Purpose of Role: To manage the Credit Unions deceased services process, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant administration for members and stakeholders, Insurance Services Dept - ILCU and effective liaison with ECCU Assurance DAC and legal representatives. Key Relationships: Members and family representatives/nominated persons; solicitors and legal representatives; internal teams and management/Board; ECCU Assurance DAC. Key Responsibilities: Process deceased notifications and related claims in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring complete documentation and correct system updates. Manage day-to-day communication with family representatives, nominated persons, solicitors, and internal stakeholders, taking ownership of queries through to completion. Liaise with the Irish League of Credit Union - Insurance Services Dept, ECCU Assurance DAC, including timely data entry and updates to relevant insurance systems, and progress claims in line with agreed processes. Maintain accurate records and filing and provide clear reporting/updates to management and the Board as required. Application of updated changes to relevant regulation in deceased services. Promote the benefits of the nominations process to members and support related administration. Support special projects and perform other additional reasonable duties as assigned by the Head of Regulation. Provide a professional and empathetic service during sensitive interactions, maintaining confidentiality and appropriate discretion. An initiative-taking, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Maintain strong compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while upholding robust and professional standards. To ensure compliance with any Fitness and Probity requirements set down by the Central Bank of Ireland. Lead out projects as required. Knowledge, Skills & Requirements Essential: Accredited Product Adviser (Life Assurance) or working towards a successful completion of same by Sept 2026 or have obtained a relevant legal or insurance certification. Strong computer literacy and attention to detail. Flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities. Excellent organisation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Computation skills Desirable: Experience/knowledge of the life insurance market. Experience/knowledge of the credit union movement. Knowledge of an Insurance Claims experience. Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements relevant to deceased services.
