Job Description - Mechanical Engineer / Electrical Engineer / Fire EngineerFWG Forensics currently has a vacancy for a fire / electrical / mechanical forensic engineer. The position would be ideally suited to somebody with an electrical / mechanical / fire engineering background and associated academic qualifications. A hands-on trade background would be an added advantage but is not necessary. Postgraduate experience would also be a distinct advantage.About the roleThe role of a forensic investigator is incredibly interesting and extremely variable. You could be excavating a fire damaged factory one day and the following day be in a meeting with senior council discussing your findings on another case. The ability to adapt to a changing environment and deal effectively with people is an important aspect of the work.The position typically involves examining and documenting fire and water damaged buildings and subsequently writing reports to clients. Mentoring and on-the-job training will be provided. No past experience is required in forensic investigations.This is a full-time position. Generally, the work will involve 40% of the time based on site all across Ireland and possibly further afield. The remainder of the time will be spent in our offices in Rathnew, Co Wicklow.
