WSP’s Land team in Ireland is seeking talented Land Consultants, at various levels, to join our Naas based team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Land Team in the delivery of land referencing, landowner engagement, consultation management, land access, formal consents, statutory orders, compensation agreements and land acquisition in support of strategic infrastructure development projects across Ireland and the UK. We support high-profile infrastructure projects across the Energy, Water, Road, Rail and Local Authority sectors and are the largest Land Referencing business in the UK and Ireland, with over 250 Land colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Associate Land Consultant responsibilities include leading a team of technical specialists to ensure successful delivery of projects on time, within budget and to high standards; acting as a trusted advisor to clients and managing relationships; advising on land issues within Ireland and UK, including statutory processes to acquire land (CPO, Motorway Order, Vesting Order, etc); securing land rights for high-profile, strategic infrastructure projects; liaising with landowners, land agents, legal representatives, planning authorities, stakeholders, contractors and clients; working closely with the Land team and collaborating with engineering, environmental, and planning teams; leading quality assurance of deliverables related to land interests, access negotiations, and land rights for large-scale projects; promoting Land services and contributing to business development across multiple sectors; sharing knowledge across regions; developing efficient practices and promoting innovation; ensuring the team has skills and resources to deliver projects and grow the business; managing, mentoring and developing staff; supporting bids/tenders; leading delivery of training; and travel in Ireland and the UK.
* Senior Land Consultant responsibilities include utilising statutory powers to acquire land, preparing and assuring technical documents related to land interests and rights, negotiating Heads of Terms, liaising with stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing efficient practices, managing and developing a team of early career professionals, contributing to business development and strategy, and travel in Ireland and the UK.
* Assistant Land Consultant responsibilities include undertaking land referencing activities, data entry and management of land and owner information in databases and GIS, site visits, supporting land rights acquisition and Heads of Terms negotiation, preparing Orders and statutory processes, and attending project meetings.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* Expertise in rural environment, property, communities and agricultural working practices.
* Experience on infrastructure development schemes with multi-disciplinary teams across sectors and locations.
* Experience negotiating commercial terms with landowners and knowledge of acquiring wayleaves and easements.
* Demonstrable experience reducing land risk for clients and advising on land matters through all project stages.
* Proven track record in development of Orders and/or acquisitions of consents and land interests, with knowledge of relevant legislation.
* Strong communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
* Motivated, able to work in a team or independently, under pressure to deliver high-quality outputs.
* Strong landowner and public engagement skills.
* Good business and IT skills; excellent adherence to QA and document management.
* A degree in Geography, Agriculture, Land and Estate Management or similar. Chartership or professional body membership advantageous. A full driver’s licence is essential.
Senior/Associate and Other Roles: What We Will Be Looking For
Degree or equivalent experience in Geography, Land and Estate Management, Agriculture or a relevant discipline. Worked to deliver land referencing, land access, landowner engagement services and statutory processes on major infrastructure projects. Experience with negotiations, multi-disciplinary teams across sectors and locations. Knowledge of rural environment and farming practices desirable. Chartership or professional body membership advantageous. A full driver’s licence is essential.

Assistant Land Consultant
* Undertake land referencing activities, including Ireland land registry searches and GIS data management.
* Site visits to confirm ownership details and access.
* Support Land Team in securing land rights and Heads of Terms.
* Assist in preparation of Orders and statutory processes and attend project meetings.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate (Continued)
* A degree in geography or related discipline with understanding of land-use and/or landownership in Ireland/UK.
* Experience with databases, mapping and GIS; excellent attention to detail.
* Experience with landowner engagement or public interaction; strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels.
* Knowledge of rural environment and farming practices desirable; full driving licence essential.
