The Maintenance Planner executes the critical planning, scheduling, coordinating, and reporting of repair activities to ensure operational effectiveness.MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Business ExcellenceMaintain backlog of work orders and move work orders to the ready-to-schedule phase, and review technician feedback upon work completionTrack the progress of work order flow through the work order system by performing plant and/or maintenance department day‐to‐day reviewsPlan all maintenance work activities associated with maintenance work orders and record technician troubleshooting feedback in SAPCoordinate outage planning activities such as scope identification and control, scheduling, risk assessments, execution and continuous improvement initiativesConduct initial screening of incoming work orders, identify scope of the work orders and analyze required level of planningPartner with Validators to ensure that plans and schedules are aligned based on the available equipment to support the millIncorporate safety requirements for all work orders and jobs to support and drive safe work behaviorsEstimate required hours on work order requests, total work hours duration, and skills required to perform the task to drive work order staff planningOversee the end-to-end planning and execution of work orders and resolve any work order issuesMaintain real-time equipment bill of materials in CMMS, including parts that have changed and new equipment being put inProcure new equipment and specialized tools required for the task or projectCreate, review, revise and release preventive maintenance work ordersComply with ISO, Safety, Environmental and other technical codes and regulationsMonitor and approve inventory orders to control storeroom spend according to planned budgetFacilitate daily core team meetings to review planned work orders, prioritize and schedule the maintenance tasks to reduce any machinery downtimePeople and CultureProvide leadership and coaching in safety, training, and work allocation to uphold the standards of maximum safety for all maintenance techniciansWork cross-divisionally with operations, reliability, and maintenance teams to enable efficiency and consistency for plant operationsSupervise contract resources directly on specific work orders during outages to allocate resources effectivelyCritical Skills / Capabilities:Conflict ResolutionProblem-SolvingTime ManagementOrganizational SkillsCollaborationTECHNICAL SKILLS:Mechanical AcumenIntermediate computer skillsMicrosoft Office – Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, WordKnowledge of Pulping & Paper Making Processes and EquipmentRequired: 2 to 3 years of experience manufacturing maintenance environmentRequired: Associate’s Degree (or higher education)Plus:Supervisory or Management experienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldKeywords: maintenance planner, outage planner, mechanical planner, mechanical planner, maintenance planning, maintenance planning, mechanical planner, planner, mechanical maintenance, mechanical maintenance planning, SAP, scheduling, maintenance scheduling, sbs, sbb, mechanical, paperboard, boxboard, liner, linerboard, corrugated medium, kraft paper, containerboard, pulp, pulp mill, paper mill, rotating equipment, pumps, heavy industrial equipment, paperCandidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.Smurfit Westrock is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
