Ballincollig Community Nursing Unit is located in Murphys Barracks Road, Ballincollig, Cork, Ireland. The state-of-the-art nursing home prioritizes residents' care, comfort, enjoyment, security, and convenience.

We are hiring full-time Healthcare Assistants to join our multidisciplinary team on a full-time basis.


Purpose of the Role

The Care Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to residents via the Named Nurse concept, contributing to Mowlam Healthcare's philosophy of care.


Key Responsibilities:

* Supporting nursing staff and teams to deliver quality person-centered care to meet residents' needs.
* Getting to know residents' interests and needs, providing attention, support, and companionship.
* Promoting residents' mobility, supervising, and assisting as necessary to maintain optimum mobility.
* Enabling and assisting residents to maintain personal appearance and hygiene while maintaining dignity.
* Enabling and assisting residents to eat, drink, and achieve physical comfort.
* Participating, organizing, and carrying out social activities.
* Sustaining high levels of communication between residents' families and staff, developing good relationships.
* Assisting in maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the home.
* Contributing to the maintenance of health and safety in the home.
* Performing other duties deemed necessary by the Nurse in Charge and management.


Requirements:

* FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or equivalent (in process or completed).
* Experience working in a healthcare environment (with knowledge of HIQA standards) preferred.
* Excellent communication skills.
* An empathetic, kind, and caring approach.
* Able to work independently or part of a team.
* Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
* Fluent level of English, both written and oral.
