Head Tennis Coach Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced tennis coach to lead our coaching program for all age groups.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering high-quality coaching services, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire young players.

* Key Responsibilities:

* Coaching & Programme Delivery - Juniors:
o Plan, lead, and deliver a comprehensive year-round coaching program for age groups from 5 to Under 18s.
o Monitor and manage the pathways for junior members to ensure their progression through the various levels, providing written feedback to parents at end of term.
o Organize and oversee holiday camps.
o Support competitive squads and manage team selection and match preparation.
o Oversee junior box leagues, including ranking of juniors into relevant boxes.
* Coaching & Programme Delivery - Seniors:
o Collaborate with senior coaching staff to provide structured team coaching in advance of league campaigns throughout the year.
o Introduce innovative programs (cardio tennis, strength & conditioning training etc.).
* Team & Staff Management:
o Lead, mentor, and schedule assistant and junior coaches.
o Ensure coaching staff adhere to safeguarding, health & safety, and club policies.
o Provide ongoing support and development opportunities for coaching staff.
o Provide regular feedback including annual reviews.
* Club Engagement & Events:
o Work closely with the Junior Administrator regarding enrolments, court allocations, and communications.
o Help promote coaching services and club activities.
o Build positive relationships with members and parents, and local partners.
o Represent the Club in league competitions.
* Administration, Child Protection & Compliance:
o Help ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment.
o Ensure compliance with TI guidelines, safeguarding procedures, and First Aid requirements.
o Work with Junior Administrator to maintain accurate records for safeguarding, attendance, and player development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Tennis Ireland Level 3 (or higher) Coaching Qualification (or international equivalent).
* Current Garda Vetting, First Aid certificate, and Safeguarding training.
* Minimum of 5 years coaching experience, ideally in a club setting.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Benefits

The new coach will enjoy significant administration support covering court bookings/allocations, enrolment of juniors, and communications with parents/members, allowing him/her to focus more on tennis and less on administration.
