We pride ourselves on our commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability, delivering solutions that meet the needs of our clients and communities.Position Overview:As a Excavator Driver / General Operative supporting our construction and civil engineering projects by performing physical labour, assisting tradespeople, preparing work areas, and ensuring safe, efficient site operations. The role typically involves groundworks such as excavation, pipe laying, concreting, and site clearance in line with Irish safety regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesExcavator DutiesOperation: Maneuver excavators for digging trenches, foundations, and clearing land; use various attachments (buckets, blades).Earthmoving: Dig, lift, move, and load soil, rock, sand, and debris.Site Prep: Clear sites, level terrain, and prepare ground for construction.Material Handling: Load materials into dump trucks or designated areas.GroundworksCarry out excavation, backfilling, trenching, and levelling.Assist with installation of drainage, ducting, utilities, and pipework.Lay kerbs, paving, concrete, and other surface materials.Prepare foundations, substructures, and site compounds.General Site DutiesLoading and unloading materials and equipment.Site clearance, keeping work areas tidy and hazard-free.Erect and dismantle temporary fencing, signage, and access systems.Equipment & ToolsOperate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely.Operate plant machinery if certified (e.g., dumper, roller, teleporter, excavator).Report equipment defects and maintain tools in good condition.Health & SafetyWork in compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and all Irish construction regulations.Follow site-specific safety rules and method statements.Use PPE at all times and report hazards, incidents, or near-misses.Participate in toolbox talks and training.Skills & CompetenciesStrong practical, hands-on ability.Good understanding of construction processes and site safety.Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.Physical fitness for manual labour and outdoor work.Good communication and reliability.Qualifications & RequirementsValid Safe Pass card (mandatory).Manual Handling Certification (mandatory).CSCS/QQI cards (advantageous), such as:Location of Underground Services (LUGS)Signing, Lighting & Guarding, SLG CardDumper / Roller / Excavator tickets, if applicablePrevious experience in construction or Excavating / groundworks preferred but not always essential.Full driving license (desirable).Job Types: Full-time, PermanentExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:Bike to work schemeCompany eventsEmployee assistance programOn-site parkingWellness programWork Location: In person
