Blackfield Associates are supporting an industry-leading client in their search for a Lead Process Engineer to provide design leadership and engineering expertise for Life Science projects. This is a hybrid role that can be based in either Dublin or Cork.
Responsibilities
* Lead the process design and engineering activities for large-scale life science projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.
* Manage multidisciplinary process design teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and quality oversight throughout project lifecycles.
* Collaborate closely with clients to understand project requirements, define scope, and deliver tailored process solutions.
* Oversee the development of process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment specifications, and process control strategies.
* Ensure integration of process systems with facility design, utilities, and automation.
* Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, contributing to successful project delivery.
* Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments.
* Provide technical leadership during construction, commissioning, and qualification phases.
* Maintain strong communication with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Required Experience & Skills
* Sufficient years of experience in chemical or process engineering, with a strong focus on facility and plant design within the life sciences sector.
* Proven track record of leading process design teams and delivering complex engineering projects.
* In-depth knowledge of GMP regulations, cleanroom design, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
* Strong understanding of process equipment, utilities, and automation systems.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Full right to work in Ireland is essential.
