The Bon Secours Hospital is the largest private hospital in Ireland and provides for numerous specialties including Oncology, Haematology, Radiotherapy, Palliative Care, Gerontology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Paediatrics, Endocrinology, Neurology, Orthopaedic, Bariatric surgery, and General Surgery. The Dietetics Department is a dynamic team which strives to provide a quality service for both inpatients and outpatients. This post will provide the successful candidates the opportunity to gain experience in bariatric surgery as well as a wide range of specialties**Main duties of the job***Main roles will include working closely with the bariatric multidisciplinary team to support individuals in their bariatric surgery journey. A large proportion of the role will involve managing a busy outpatient clinic caseload (phone/virtual/in person), as well as meeting individuals’ post-surgery on in-patient wards. The ideal candidate will also have a key role in multi-disciplinary team meetings, formulating treatment plans and managing post-op complications. After a period of training, the candidate will hold their own busy case* *load but* *are expected to work with and support colleagues at all times to ensure seamless pre and post-op patient care and education.*Applications are invited for *a Senior Bariatric Dietitian* *and Obesity Disease Management* from suitably qualified candidates*. Experience managing patients who have had bariatric surgery and/or previous experience in a weight management* *and* *obesity disease* *desirable* *but not essential. The role would be suitable for an individual with a strong work ethic and outstanding interpersonal and team skills. Supervised specialist training can be offered for the right candidate.* Continuing professional development is actively encouraged and supported.**Essential Criteria*** ### Hold a qualification approved by the Dietitians registration board at CORU.* ### Be registered with the Dietitians registration board at CORU.* ### Maintain live annual registration with the Dietitians registration board at CORU.* ### Have three years full time experience in clinical dietetics, preferably in a hospital setting.* ### Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability for working within a team and the ability to prioritise case load in a busy setting) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office* ### Be able to communicate in English to the standard equivalent of level 7 of the International English Language Testing System* ### Be eligible to be a member of the INDIAt Bon Secours Hospital Cork, we are committed to providing excellent patient care, and our administrative team plays a vital role in this mission.
