Deputy Store Manager
As Deputy Store Manager, you will play a central role in supporting the Store Manager with all aspects of day-to-day operations within a large-format, big-box retail setting. You'll lead by example, ensuring a consistently high standard of customer service, driving sales performance, and maintaining operational excellence throughout the store. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
Responsibilities as Deputy Store Manager
1. Support the Store Manager in driving sales, achieving targets, and delivering exceptional customer service
2. Oversee daily store operations, ensuring strong visual merchandising and stock availability
3. Lead, coach, and develop the team to maintain high performance and a customer-first mindset
4. Monitor KPIs and operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
5. Ensure full compliance with company procedures, stock management, and health & safety regulations
Skills & Experience Required:
6. Proven experience in a retail leadership role (e.g. Deputy Manager, Duty Manager, Department Manager)
7. 2 years + Big Box fast paced Non Food or Grocery retail management experience
8. Effective team leader with a proactive and hands-on management style
9. Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to motivate and engage teams
10. Solid understanding of retail operations and key drivers of sales performance
11. Self-driven, adaptable, and focused on achieving results in a fast-paced environment
Salary & Benefits:
12. Competitive salary (DOE) – 38k
13. One weekend off per month
14. 5 hours contract
