We are looking for experienced Construction Plant Operator to join our team in Kildare.
Key Responsibilities:
Read, understand, and comply with the Company's Safety Statement and all associated procedures.
Operate plant or machinery only if you are 18 years or older and hold a valid SOLAS CSCS/CPCS/NPORS (or approved equivalent) certification appropriate to the equipment used.
Ensure you are familiar with and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements related to plant operation.
Inspect equipment daily and report any defects or damage immediately to the Plant Manager. Do not operate machinery if its safety is compromised.
Use hearing protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to mitigate risks such as noise exposure and physical hazards.
Operate equipment only for its intended purpose. If uncertain, seek guidance from the Plant Manager before proceeding.
Wear appropriate safety footwear, high-visibility clothing, and protective gear when outside the cab or on-site.
Actively contribute to hazard identification and suggest improvements to enhance safety and efficiency.
Maintain safe distances from other workers and ensure clear communication when manoeuvring, especially when reversing or operating in confined spaces.
Work with a Banksman where required and agree on clear, pre-defined hand signals before starting operations.
Report all accidents, near misses, or damage, no matter how minor, to the Site Supervisor.
Confirm with the Project Manager or Supervisor the location of underground and overhead services before commencing work.
When using machinery for lifting operations, ensure it is set up on stable, level ground with appropriate bearing timbers under outriggers where applicable.
Carry out regular machine inspections and ensure that all statutory inspection records and forms are kept up to date.
Ensure all plant is fitted with flashing beacons, and equipment with restricted visibility is equipped with cameras or 3-way mirror systems in accordance with company policy.
Ensure all equipment undergoes the required Thorough Examination and lifting tests in compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
Verify that all lifting accessories and attachments are in safe working order and have current certification.
Requirements:
Minimum 18 years of age.
Valid Full Driving Licence.
Appropriate and current machinery operating cards/tickets (e.g., SOLAS CSCS, CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
Good understanding of site safety procedures and hazard awareness.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team environment.
