The General Operative role is to assist in all areas of the plant as and when required and to deal with the acceptance and processing of waste and exports in compliance with all legislative and administrative requirements, and in line with our EPA licence.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out all required general operative duties which may include, but which will not be limited to:
Incoming waste (e.g. paint waste) is properly tracked and segregated into the appropriate waste streams and to account for outgoing waste accordingly
Processing of fuel oil as required
Operation of filter press as required
Cleaning of tanks (confined space work) as required
Loading and unloading of vehicles as required
Additional services developed or offered by the company
Conduct duties in accordance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the company's waste licence
Complete all paperwork and administration necessary as requested by your supervisor or as the business needs dictate
Adhere to the company's Health and Safety policy and procedures at all times, including but not limited to:
Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) at all times
Highlight any safety concerns to your Manager immediately and report any accidents/ incidents to your Manager immediately
Report all non-conformances to the relevant personnel and follow up to ensure compliance requirements are met
Ensure that housekeeping is kept to a high standard around the site and that all activities comply with health and safety requirements
Communicate any issues that arise to the Operations Manager/ Supervisor immediately
Attend plant meetings, company meetings, training courses etc. as required
Provide direct operational support to any and all areas of the business as required and as reasonably requested by the company including but not limited to support for off site operations (e.g. waste oil and garage services, field services)
Be flexible to carry out other duties as may be requested of your Manager from time to time
Maintain vehicles, work equipment, materials and PPE clean and in working order and report any loss or damage immediately
Carry out checks, inspections and audits as directed
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Act courteously and communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, Enva personnel and other personnel encountered within your role
Foster and develop good customer and public relations at all times and portray a professional image of the company
Report for work in a timely manner and conduct work as scheduled to company and customer satisfaction
Work within the instructions and procedures of the Company's systems as directed by your Supervisor or other management as appropriate
Conduct all duties in a constructive, efficient and productive manner at all times
Act diligently and professionally in the interests of the Company
Report any personal circumstances that would affect your ability to legally perform your duties
