Gracy's Bistro is seeking a reliable, passionate, conscientious, organised and detail‑oriented Prep Chef to join our kitchen team. This role is essential to the daily flow of service and allows the team to deliver excellent food consistently in a busy fast‑paced environment and ensures through professionalism, pride and team spirit that the customer has a fantastic experience.
Responsibilities
Ensure that food prep is done and organised with passion, pride and attention to detail.
Work alongside and take direction from the senior chef; follow recipes to maintain consistency in the food served.
Maintain clean lines to a very high HACCP standard using our Kelsiussystem; organise fridges, prep and storage areas.
Assist within the kitchen when required or as needed.
Correctly apply HACCP principles throughout the kitchen, correctly label and date products and store all food items.
Follow all food safety, sanitation and hygiene standards.
Perform stock rotation and ordering in conjunction with the Chef to ensure good stock management and minimal food wastage.
Engage with all staff members respectfully and maintain a positive, pleasant working environment.
Required Qualifications
Previous kitchen or food prep experience in a busy environment (hotel, contract services or high‑volume/banqueting type business, cafe, etc.).
Strong knife skills and attention to detail.
Highly organised and able to work on own initiative.
Self‑starter with a positive, helpful attitude.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, taking and giving direction to deliver great food and customer experience.
Team‑oriented with a positive attitude.
Punctual, dependable and organised.
Sense of pride and personal presentation.
Excellent application of HACCP procedures throughout the kitchen to ensure safe food practices in all areas.
Good timing and time‑management skills.
