Cost Accountant
to join our group.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Management / Cost Accountant to support the setup and financial operations of our new manufacturing plant.
This is a pivotal role that combines traditional cost accounting responsibilities with the opportunity to design, implement, and optimize financial systems and processes in a greenfield manufacturing environment.
This role would suit a CIMA qualified accountant, with a proven track record in the preparation of management accounts and cost accounting within a manufacturing setting.
The candidate will also demonstrate experience in systems implementation, process improvement, and data-driven decision support.
What you'll do
Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems, procedures, and policies tailored to the needs of the manufacturing plant to ensure the integrity and accuracy of cost accounting data.
Continually incorporate process improvements.
Assist in the development of internal controls and audit readiness for all cost and inventory-related processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to accurately capture BOM (Bill of Materials), routing, and cost allocation of materials and overheads.
Set up standard costing models and monitor variances over time.
Provide detailed analysis and insight into cost drivers and opportunities for efficiency.
Lead the financial aspects of ERP/system implementation related to costing and inventory management, ensuring system accuracy and integrity.
Partner with operations and finance to lead the budgeting, forecasting, and cost reduction initiatives for the manufacturing plant.
Provide financial insight and support to leadership during the plant setup and initial production ramp-up phases.
Perform month-end close activities, including the preparation of management accounts to include, variance analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, and inventory valuation.
Carry out financial analysis such as make or buy and getting involved in ad-hoc projects as required.
Proactively prepare regular reports, dashboards and KPIs to support plant and corporate leadership in strategic decision-making.
Who you are
Professional accounting qualification is required.
Ideally CIMA qualified (CPA, ACCA or equivalent will be considered based on experience).
Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience in a plant startup or expansion project.
Deep understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
Hands-on experience with ERP or MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and financial systems implementation.
Excellent analytical skills, strong financial modelling skills and high attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across departments.
Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
